How to use it
Four steps from template to working system.
- 01
Confirm the entity
Document the legal or trading name, real address or service area, phone, website and customer-facing hours.
- 02
Choose accurate categories
Select the closest supported primary category and relevant secondary categories without forcing unrelated services.
- 03
Connect the website
Keep contact details, service information and local context consistent and useful on the linked pages.
- 04
Maintain the profile
Assign ownership for reviews, updates, images, closures and measurement.
Working guidance
Use the template with context, evidence and ownership.
Open each note when that decision becomes relevant. The complete guidance remains available without turning the page into a wall of copy.
01Accuracy precedes optimisation
Google Business Profile represents a real-world entity. False locations, names, reviews or service claims create user, policy and reputation risk.
02Measure actions with context
Calls, direction requests and website visits are useful indicators, but reconcile them with qualified enquiries and customers.
Resource questions

01Is Google Business Profile free?
Eligible businesses can create and manage a profile without paying Google, although professional support and advertising are separate.
02Does adding keywords to the business name help?
The name should reflect the real-world business name under platform rules, not an invented keyword string.
